Hi Mary,
I'm glad you wrote.I have been interested in your surname because I suspected it was changed from Sciacchitano and I work with a women who is married to a Sachitana.She knew the name had changed but not much more.Unfortunately I don't know much more either after doing a little digging at the library.I found nothing about Fedele but have copied below the info I gathered.It is clear that Sachitana is derived from Sciacchitano and that the NO group has ties to Beaumont, TX.I can't conclusively say where in Italy they are from.The naturalization record says Castelvetrano but this Antony has a different wife than the Anthony in the 1963 obituary.Perhaps you know how the TX and LA groups tie together based on your family history.For more conclusive answers, I sugg est that you get the church record of their marriage (see the links section) or see if you can get that 1941 naturalization record.I'll let you know if I find any more info.
