Our organization, officially known as Congregazione di San Bartolomeo Apostolo, was founded in New Orleans in 1879 by Italian immigrants from the Island of Ustica, so that "members shall find relief and assistance in case of need and wherein members shall exercise towards one another benevolence, charity and camaraderie".   Through society activities and our portal to the world, www.ustica.org, we strive to fulfill the mission of our forefathers and foster the sense of community shared by all descendants of Ustica.

Usticese Family Picnic

Saturday, April 16th, 2016
11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Lafreniere Park, Metairie, La
Pavillion #5

This is a great opportunity to get together and welcome new people into our community.

CSBA is organizing the food / drinks for the picnic and were asking that everyone bring a favorite Creole / Cajun / Italian dish so that we can get a true taste of New Orleans.   Any help is welcome and you don't have to feed everyone.   Please note that no glass is allowed in the park and remember to bring a chair too.   If our past picnics serves as an example, we should expect from 60 - 100 people!   Please send an email to csba@ustica.org with your contribution if you want to pitch in.

The first activity of the CSBA for 2014 will be a party in honor of some guests from Ustica who will be in town for Mardi Gras. Pietro Bertucci, his wife, Bartola, and his sister Lydia will be staying with CSBA member, Maria Compagno (This is a different Pietro Bertucci than last year's, in case you hadn't figure that out-- and this Pietro also speaks English). The meet and greet will be a pot luck and will be held at the party room of the Fleur Du Lac Condominiums (home of members Chris and Liz Bertucci). An empty lot behind the building is available for parking (please park diagonally so everyone can fit). Parking is prohibited on the levee road. Please drop by and bring a favorite dish so we can give our guests a taste of New Orleans! All are welcome!
