Chris Caravella's Virtual Tour of Ustica

Pass of the Madonna

At the northwestern edge of Tramontana valley lies a steep cliff dedicated to the Virgin Mary.  Here there is a small chapel that you can stop by for a visit.  The wall built to prevent rocks from falling into the road was painted with bright images of the sea and sealife of Ustica by the school children of the island.
Views of the sea are spectacular from the high perches of the Pass of the Madonna.
